My name is Carly, I'm 28 years old, I love art, craft, design, film, animation - basically anything creative! This blog details all sorts of things I am working on at the moment, from art projects, sewing, craft, other great designers and inspiration for my works.

My background is in Visual Arts, I did a BA (Visual) majoring in Textiles. I primarily like to use techniques of machine embroidery, sculpting forms with fabric, machine embroidery, collage, stitching, cutting, beading and stop animation film with a focus on using recycled fabrics.
Inspiration is drawn from themes and ideas of collage, bizarre, fantastic, escapism, fantasy, unreality, narrative, film, fairy tales, art of deception, naïve art, children’s film and television and the classic era of silent cinema.
In terms of the cinematic side film directors such as Federico Fellini, Michel Gondry, Tim Burton, Adam Elliot and Hayao Miyazaki. Regarding the art and design the following artists have been an influence, Louise Weaver, Brian Froud, Audrey Kawasaki, Paul Ramano, Anneli Olander and Joe Sorren.
